The American auto giant has recently launched a 24x7 Roadside Assistance Program for its customers in the Indian market.
This scheme could be availed by prospective buyers making a purchase of Chevrolet cars in 2014. And interestingly, this package would come in the all inclusive price of the model. Furthermore, General Motors has also proposed a plan that will allow its existing Chevrolet customers to opt for this program with a minimal fee of Rs. 1000 and Rs. 2700, for a contract extended to 1 year and 3 years, respectively. Seemingly, the car manufacturer is prioritising consumer satisfaction which would apparently strengthen its domestic market presence to some extent.
Notably, Chevrolet has included minor amends in its program with respect to other company's scheme to make its offer somewhat exclusive. While announcing the strategy, P Balendran, Vice President, General Motors India, said, “Customer is the most important facet of our business. With the launch of the roadside assistance program, we are taking the ownership experience a step further by ensuring complete peace of mind and comfort. The initiative includes special care for our customers in the event of vehicle immobilization such as free taxi provision and towing facility anywhere in India.”
General Motor's Roadside Assistance Program provides on the spot help-in-case of any mechanical or electric breakdown in the car. Notably, any dreadful incident, battery discharge problems, improper tyre condition and loss of car keys are some other features all inclusive in this package. Experts are of a view that such schemes express auto makers' dedication towards their product as well as buyers, and such acute policies are also beneficial for companies to lure consumers in the long run. Also, Chevrolet India had recently launched it Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) called Enjoy and prior to that it had witnessed satisfactory sales of its sedan Chevrolet Sail. To help promote its range of vehicles in 2014, the company seems duly obliged in keeping its fan base fully content. Although the auto maker does not plan to extend its portfolio in the near future, speculations are rife that the roadside assistance program will be advantageous to increase sales of its existing models.
