The leading luxury auto maker from Germany, BMW is expected to launch new 7 Series ActiveHybrid variant in the domestic market. The untouched luxury hybrid segment in India will get all new 7 Series Active Hybrid sedan this year. Hopefully, this will trigger gush of other models from various auto makers in the forenamed segment that is yet in adolescent stage in India.
An ActiveHybrid system will be equipped in the sedan that amalgamates the V8 petrol engine of the vehicle with the eight-speed auto tranny and electric motor. The robust 4.4 litre turbocharged V8 mill is capable of belting out a top power output of 460 Bhp while the collective power of the V8 engine and electric motor sums up at 480 Bhp. The sturdy combination of the V8 engine and electric motor makes the vehicle sprint from zilch to 100 kmph within 4.9 seconds and touch a top speed mark of 250 Kmph. Hybrid variant of 7 Series is likely to return an impressive fuel economy. Being the hybrid version, new ActiveHubrid 7 Series sedan is expected to come with a hefty price tag ranging between Rs 1.52 crore to Rs 1.82 crore.
