The German bikemaker, BMW Motorrad has revealed a scrambler concept - Concept Path 22 – at the Wheels & Waves Festival in Biarritz, France. Based on the BMW R nineT, the Concept Path 22 is designed in 1950s style especially for this festival. The concept has been named after a European surfing spot located on the Atlantic shore in Southern France. This spot can be approached only through trekking a pine forest or a motorcycle.
The Concept Path 22 features a classic circular headlamp with a protective grid, five-spoke milled-aluminum wheels with robust off-road tyres, a single-side swing arm rear suspension, longer fork travel, revised seat and tank and a raised exhaust. The bike also gets a removable surfboard holder designed with leather and aluminum and a collapsible bracket on the side, reflecting its surfing inspiration.
Other features include beige stitched leather seat upholstery, a basic digital instrument cluster and a unique body-color designed by Ornamental Conifer. Powering the Concept Path 22 is a two-cylinder boxer engine with cardan drive. Though, the full-engine details are still under wraps.
The R nineT, on the other hand, is propelled by a flat-twin, air-cooled engine that produces a maximum power of 110bhp at 7, 550rm with 87 foot-pounds of torque at 6, 000rpm. So, we believe that the same engine has been fitted to the concept with minor or no updates.
