With 7 Series ActiveHybrid variant BMW India will venture into hybrid segment in domestic market. BMW’s first hybrid offering will be brought to India as a completely built unit and is expected to be priced between Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 1.8 crore. Under the hood, a 3.0 litre, six cylinder,, in-line engine will be packed. The athletic engine is capable of pumping out a maximum power output of 320 Bhp along with a peak torque of 450 Nm. A twin-turbocharged electric motor is also fitted in the engine that produces 55 Bhp of power and 210 Nm of torque. A ZF eight-speed automatic transmission will be coupled to the engine that will transmit power to rear wheels. The ZF automatic engine also contributes towards decreased fuel consumption by 6 per cent when amalgamated with hybrid motor.  The vehicle yields an impressive performance as it sprints from 0 to 100 kmph within 5.6 seconds and hits an electronically curbed speed of 250 kmph.
