      After compact hatchbacks, the entry-level sedans contribute to the bulk of sales in the Indian passenger car market. All major automobile players in the country have put best of their efforts in developing a frugal saloon that is compliant with all the needs and requisites of the domestic audience. At present, there are many attractive propositions available to Indian car enthusiasts in entry-level sedan segment, such as Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Tata Manza Club Class, Mahindra Verito and Toyota Etios amongst others.

      Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country's largest passenger car maker, has tasted great success with its Swift DZire entry-level sedan in the domestic auto market. The Swift DZire comes assimilated with a 1.2 litre, K-Series engine powering its petrol model, that rolls out a peak output power and torque delivery of 86 bhp and 114 Nm, respectively. Further, the diesel Swift DZire comes fitted with a 1.3 litre DDiS engine that churns out a maximum power and torque outputs of 74 bhp and 190 Nm, in the order of mention. Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers its Swift DZire in the price range of Rs. 5 to 7.5 lakhs to domestic audience, with the entry-level sedan contributing bulk of sales in the segment.

      Next in our list of best budget sedans available in India is the Tata Manza Club Class. The company introduced its Manza model with a motive to change its brand perception among domestic audience and the sedan totally lives up to its name- 'Club Class'. The USP of the stylish sedan is its segment defining luxurious interior setting and a string of several exciting best-in-class features.

      Tata Manza Club Class comes assimilated with 1.3 litre Quadrajet90 diesel and 1.4 litre Safire90 petrol engines under its hood. Interestingly, the two engines- Safire90 and Quadrajet90 roll out a peak power of 88.8 bhp. The company offers its stunning and sleek sedan within a price bracket of Rs. 5.7 to Rs. 5.8 lakhs in the country.

      The Mahindra Verito is another enticing sedan that requires a mention in our list of Best budget sedans of India. The entry-level Verito sedan is offered in both petrol and diesel models, which carry price tags in the bracket of Rs. 5.2 lakhs to Rs. 7.5 lakhs. The 1.4 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engines installed under-the-hood of Verito sedan churn out peak power outputs of 75 and 65 bhp, respectively. The best attributes of Mahindra Verito are its interior volume, sturdy built and sophisticated looks.

      The Toyota Etios entry-level sedan looks great and has an impressive engine among its competition. The petrol Etios comes fitted with an 89 bhp capable 1.5 litre engine, whereas its diesel model is powered with 1.4 litre motor that rolls out a peak power of 67 bhp. The Japanese auto major offers its Etios sedan to domestic audience within a price range of Rs. 5.4 to Rs. 8.4 lakhs.
