According to the recent statement from Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto, the company will roll out the model from its Waluj plant near Aurangabad instead of its Chakan plant near Pune. “The company is investing Rs 500 crore in this project. It is confidential for Bajaj, Nissan and Renault and so, I will not speak much about it,” he said.

The total cost of the project is expected to be Rs. 2000 crores and Bajaj has been quite active in acquiring land for the purpose. So far it has already acquired 250 acres and has requested 100 acres more from the government for the project.
