Bajaj Auto Limited, one of the country's largest motorcycle manufacturers, has revealed intentions of bringing out a brand new 100 cc motorcycle in Indian market by the end of 2012. The company is targeting daily commuting domestic working class population, which look for a highly fuel efficient, powerful and low maintenance needing products.
Bajaj Auto can be credited as one of the most influential bike makers in the country in the above 150 cc segment, with a fan following vouched for by its direct competitors. Despite of the immense success of its 135 cc Discover and above 150 cc Pulsar motorcycle fleet, the bike maker failed to recreate its form in the 100 cc segment. At present, Hero MotoCorp is the undisputed champion of the 100 cc entry-level motorcycle segment of the Indian market, with its golden product, the Hero Splendour.
Top industry boffins have pinned great hopes with the upcoming Bajaj 100 cc entry-level commuter bike. Further, the bike is also anticipated as the country's most features laden and expensive 100 cc product till date. The rumour mill is abuzz with speculations regarding technical specifications and fuel economy of the upcoming motorcycle, but no sound details have been confirmed yet from Bajaj Auto's stable.
