Hyundai, one of the popular international brands, had displayed an interesting line-up of products at the 11th edition of the Auto Expo. The Hyundai fleet included Sonata sedan, Veloster Coupe, Hexaspace concept MPV, Hyundai Eon and a few more.

One of the highlights of the Hyundai pavilion was the latest Sonata. The newest version of the Sonata has a fluidic design that gives an illusion that the car is constantly in motion. Stylish exteriors with exquisite designing add to the car’s appeal. The car comes equipped with a direct-injection, 2.4-litre, Theta GDi petrol engine. It will generate a maximum power of 197 hp and a torque of 250 Nm. The Sonata will only be available with a petrol engine as the platform on which it is based is not compatible with the diesel engines of Hyundai. It will have both the automatic and manual transmission options. Some of the prominent features of the car include cruise control, all ventilated seats and electrically adjustable seats. It is most likely that the new Sonata will successfully be able to compete with rivals like Honda Accord and Skoda Superb.

Hyundai has yet to declare the price range at which the new Sonata will be available in the market. However, it is expected the latest version will have a price range slightly higher than the existing Sonata that falls between Rs. 15 lacs and Rs. 18 lacs.

Veloster, another model displayed by Hyundai, belongs to the hatchback segment in the car market. It is a three-door vehicle that is fitted with a direct-injection, 1.6-litre engine, having three variants. Two are petrol versions having a MPI unit and a GDI unit while the third is a diesel. The car provides options of six-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic.

Hyundai’s Hexaspace concept MPV has innovative interiors and can accommodate eight passengers. The Elantra also has a fluidic design and is available abroad with a 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel engine and is most likely to have the same specifications in India as well. It will compete with models like Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic in the Indian car market.
