Priced at around Rs. 3.8 lakhs (ex-showroom), Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 VXI AMT comes up as the first update of Alto K10, which was introduced in 2010. This new model has not only got a completely different look, but some exciting new features as well, and the most significant one is AMT. AMT – Automated Manual Transmission is a new car technology that has found its place in several new cars. Notably, Celerio was the very first to have used this AMT feature across Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio. It is this feature that made Alto K10 AMT update steal the show in the hatchback segment.

A hatchback body style, 998 cc petrol engine, automated manual transmission, 24.07 kmpl mileage, disc brakes in front and drum brakes in rear, this is what defines Alto K10 AMT. Industry experts are of a view that this car was launched to compete against the recently introduced Hyundai Eon (1.0 litre engine) and Datsun GO that made its global debut in India. It must be noted that Maruti Suzuki Alto has always been the king of the entry-level hatchback segment, and it appears that the auto maker didn’t want to lose this well-earned title. With the launch of the country’s cheapest semi-automatic car, Alto K10 AMT, Maruti Suzuki wooed the price sensitive Indian buyers. Speaking of features, there are some things that you as a customer would look forward to and some features which will make you think twice before buying the new model.
