Czech carmaker Skoda had thrilled the Indian as well as the international market with the Superb sedan. To further enhance the thrill amongst its fans the company had recently released the sketches and interiors of the sedan. The production version of the 2016 Skoda Superb shall be unveiled next week on 17th February.
The upcoming Rapid sedan from Skoda shall be available in petrol as well as diesel variant. The diesel trim is likely to be powered by 2.0-litre unit that is capable of generating about 170bhp of power, whereas the petrol trim is likely to be powered by 1.8-litre turbo engine that can generate a maximum power output of about 177 bhp. Both the engines shall be mated to current generation DSG automatic gearbox.
Expect larger cabin area and luggage space in the new trim. The vehicle is also stated to be about 75kgs lighter than the previous model that further ensures better efficiency and performance figures. The front fascia gets new butterfly-shaped grille, flanked by a set of larger headlamps. More details about the vehicle shall be known during the official unveiling event.
