Parking our beloved vehicle away from our sight often gives us nightmares. But those days of worry-some may soon be over as German-based company named Hella has reportedly been working on developing a new technology named as Intelligent Damage Detection System can detect and notify you in case the vehicle gets scratched, dented, or even punctured.

The system shall be connected to the existing device like Park Distance Control. As stated by sources, the company has stated the technology as, "a sense of touch... for the whole outer shell,". The system is likely to be ready this year and may be fully integrated into cars sometime by 2018. It can even be connected to on-board cameras and GPS system to both record as well as track where the car was last seen and who is responsible.

Speaking more on the occasion sources said, “If the IDDS is wired into the car's GPS or a telematics system like OnStar, it can record the details of when the damage happened, and if plugged into a car's numerous cameras it might be able to snap a picture of the offender. You - and the offender and your insurance company - would then have real-time information on what, where, when, and how the damage occurred.”
