Tata Motors is in no mood to sit and enjoy the success of Zest as it goes ahead marching in 2015 with a fierce attack plan. They will mark an entry in the premium hatch with the Bolt hatchback, which will take on rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Elite i20. The Bolt hatchback from Tata Motors comes with a younger appeal now.
Tata Bolt owes its new internationally appealing look due to designs inputs received from team in India, UK and Italy. The headlights have received a smoky finish and a wide radiator grille blends finely into this large wraparound styled headlamps. The hatchback has received a sporty roof spoiler that compliments the floating rood design, and the chrome bezels around the fog lights further enhances its front fascia. The tail-lamps sport a flame shaped structure which indeed looks quite impressive and distinctive from the traditional squares, circles and rectangles seen around.
Taking you through the interiors, its would be hard for you to fail to notice the effort made by Tata Motors to bring-forth this truly unique car. The cabin area sports Java black interiors with a grainy feel. The three spoke signature steering wheel gets multiple entertainment as well as voice assist controls. The instrumental cluster gets a minor update in the form of drive mode display. It has analogue speedometer and tachometer with a digital information display in the center, which shows real time fuel consumption, distance to empty and trip readings along with others. The fun element does not end here, the hatchback also gets a touchscreen infotainment system that also handles multiple tasks like setting the right air conditioning temperature, controlling the surround sound fader, shuffling through music track to even reading out SMS received.
In terms of passenger comfort, you can expect easy ingress and egress even for passengers with a good height. The roof line rises exactly post the front pillar and descends gradually thus leaving generous headroom for all occupants inside. Spacious legroom and knee room indeed offers much comfort to both row passengers. The boot-space is not too impressive as compared to older Tata variants in the country, but it is indeed sufficient to stack your stuff when you undertake a trip with your folks.
