Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, has unveiled the i20 Coupe and new Tucson SUV at the ongoing 2015 Delhi Motor Show. The i20 Coupe is the company's first ever B-segment three-door model that looks quite different from the five-door hatchback. The Tucson SUV will be positioned between the ix25 SUV and the bigger Santa Fe.
The i20 Coupe is 25mm lower than the five-door hatchback and features more raked pillars and a rear mounted spoiler. The taillights are bigger, and its flared wheel arches get new 17-inch alloy wheels. It comes with a boot space of 336-litres, which is 10-litres more than the hatchback. It will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the petrol units are 84bhp, 1.2-litre and 100bhp, 1.4-litre units, the oil burners are 75bhp, 1.1-litre and 90bhp, 1.4-litre motors.
Talking about the SUV, the high-riding C segment SUV has a more refined design, LED headlamps and a chrome hexagon grille. The overall design of the SUV seems inspired from the Santa Fe SUV. The cabin is completely new, and has big touchscreen display and heated & ventilated front seats.
The Hyundai Tucson gets a naturally aspirated as well turbo-charged 1.6-litre petrol engines. While the naturally aspirated engine develops 135bhp, the turbo engine produces 176bhp. The oil burners are - a 1.7-litre unit that is rated at 115bhp and a 2.0-litre unit that offers two states of tunes - 136bhp and 184bhp. Interestingly, Hyundai also showcased a Tucson 48V hybrid which is powered by a 136bhp diesel engine paired with a 14bhp electric motor. The combined power output is rated at 150bhp and 413Nm of torque.
