The all-new Ford Figo hatchback has been revealed in pictures just ahead of its launch on September 23, 2015 (i.e. today). With all new exterior and interior design, the new-generation Ford Figo looks a more up-market product than before. The vehicle will also get a set of all new engines. It is likely to be made available with three engine options - a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol, a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol and a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel – which have been borrowed from the Figo Aspire.
The 1.5 TDCi diesel mill produces a maximum power of 99bhp and 215Nm of torque, while the 1.2 Ti-VCT and 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol mills offer 88bhp with 112Nm and 110bhp with 135Nm respectively. Transmission options on offer are a five-speed manual, and a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Though the automatic gearbox will be made available only with the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol version.
In terms of dimensions, the new Figo is longer and taller than the existing one. It features an Aston Martin-inspired front grille, underlining body toned bumper, large swept back headlights, sporty fog lamps, a raked windshield, alloy wheels, revised taillight enclosure and rear bumper. Inside, the hatchback receives all-black interior with black-coloured steering wheel, black seats, door panels, centre console, chrome surrounded AC vents and silver accents on door armrests.
Features on offer are a 4.2-inch SYNC multimedia infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, six-airbags (only on the top-model), ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), etc.
