The official images of the 2015 BMW 3 Series facelift have been leaked online right before its global unveiling today. The leaked pictures reveal that except for some minor exterior changes, the updated model looks largely similar to the existing model. The saloon features LED headlights stretching towards the grille, slightly modified front and rear bumpers, LED taillight and new 3 Series badge at rear end. Since the car in the image appears in a new Blue shade, it is expected that BMW might add this new paint option in the lineup.

On the inside, the car doesn't get significant alterations. Expect the new air vents with chrome accents and chrome surrounded automatic climate control layout, the rest of the cabin looks similar to the outgoing model. Though the leaked image is of the new 340i trim, powered with an inline- six cylinder engine, we don’t think it will come to India.

The Indian-spec model of the new 3 Series will continue to be powered with the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder CRDi diesel engine that does duty to the existing 320d variant. This powertrain is capable to produce a maximum power of 184bhp at 4, 000rpm and 380Nm between 1, 750rpm – 2750rpm. Besides the 2.0-litre engine, BMW might offer a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder engine on the base variant of the saloon.

The 2015 BMW 3 Series is likely to be offered within the price range of Rs. 30 lakh – Rs. 40 lakh (ex-showroom). It will take on the likes of Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C Class and the upcoming Jaguar XE.
