Yamaha has launched the Cygnus Ray ZR at Rs 52,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 110cc male-centric moto-scooter is being offered in two variants – drum and disc, out of which the latter has been priced at Rs 54,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Yamaha Ray ZR continues with the same edgy design philosophy which made the Ray Z so popular among youngsters. The front gets a new fascia with a redesigned headlamp, while the side profile features sharper lines. It also gets a redesigned instrument cluster. The Yamaha Ray ZR retains the same 113cc air-cooled powertrain from its predecessor. Churning out 7bhp and 8Nm of torque through a CVT transmission, this engine comes with Yamaha’s proprietary BlueCore technology. On the safety front, the Ray ZR will now get an optional disc brake for the alloy wheel variant.
Speaking about this new product, Roy Kurian, VP, sales and marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “With Yamaha’s fortebeing catering to youngsters with its DNA of style, sportiness and innovation, the new Cygnus Ray-ZR will surely be a treat for real boys, especially among the ones particularly keen on style and technology. We are excited to launch the new Cygnus Ray-ZR which is all set to rev many hearts among Indian customers.”
The Yamaha Ray ZR competes with the likes of the Hero Maestro Edge, Honda Dio and the TVS Wego. Deliveries of the scooter will commence in the first week of May.
