Mountain Dew is sponsoring the ‘Mountain Dew Xtreme Tour’ in an endeavour to bring the X Games to India. The soft drink brand from Pepsi has centred its corporate image on adventure and extreme sports. A team of 10 professional gave a phenomenal performance and mesmerised the audience during the second leg of the event held in Noida.

The athletes who showcased their skills at the event included skateboarding professional and 21 time X Games medallist Andy McDonald, gold medallist skaters Eito Yasutoko, Takeshi Yasutoko and Sandro Dias. They were joined by Bicycle Motocross (BMX) star Simon Tabron as well as Freestyle Motocross (FMX) riders Jimmie McGuire, Tommy Clowers, Dustin Nowak, Myles Richmond and Mike Mason.

Second leg of the Mountain Dew Xtreme Tour flagged off with an excellent display by inline skaters Eito and Takeshi Yasutoko as well as skateboarders McDonald and Dias. The four of them spun in the air as many as three times and landed on the ramp without losing balance. Dias showed exemplary poise and professionalism even when he lost balance due to excessive wind. MacDonald showed his proficiency by going upside down in mid-flight atop the ramp, grabbing Tabron's BMX handlebar and still landing effortlessly with this skateboard on the ramp.

The 5 FMX riders performed 180 degree powerslides and wheelies on 250 cc bikes and then boarded a 10 foot high ramp to try 75 foot jumps. They jumped with utmost control and made remarkable landings by marginally bending their arms and legs before touching ground in order to lower the impact. Alternately, all riders took their hands and legs off the bikes while they were in the air and still maintained balance before landing. Even the audience was unable to choose the best stunt out of the 360 degree back flip and the jump wherein the rider easily turned his bike around 90 degree on one side at kick off before bringing it back into position upon touching the ramp.

Regarding the tour, Ruchira Jaitly, Executive Vice President - Marketing, Beverages (Flavours), PepsiCo India, commented, “Adventure, can do attitude and overcoming your worst fears is in the DNA of Mountain Dew. Over the years, we have brought in high adrenaline experiences to our consumers and the Dew Xtreme Tour promises to take it to the next level. Mountain Dew is bringing world class athletes, a mega set-up with sets fabricated by experts and spectacular performances for the first time with this scale in India. We are confident that the first season of Mountain Dew Xtreme Tour in India will be a great success.”
