      Volvo XC90 - The cleanest and most powerful SUV by Swedish firm

      Swedish car manufacturer Volvo Cars has made an announcement regarding its highly-popular XC90 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), claiming that it is the firm’s most powerful vehicle from the segment in its history and also has the lowest carbon dioxide footprint. This car, fitted with a T8 Twin engine, is capable of producing an output of up to 407 BHP and highest torque level of 640 Nm.

      Notably, this output of over 400 BHP is a combination of 320 BHP (engine) and 87 BHP (electric motor). This SUV has a mixed mileage figure of around 47.6 kmpl and according to the firm; it is capable of travelling up to 43 km on complete electric mode. Experts feel that these figures are excellent given the kind of output the SUV provides.

      Volvo XC90 has generated a tremendous amount of hype in the market and particularly the SUV segment. The Swedish car maker has gone on record to claim that this car is the best utility vehicle it has ever made and its luxury quotient is top class. One of the main aims of this SUV is to improve upon the human quotient in this completely mechanical affair. This seven-seater luxury car’s ability to have low emission has added to its USP. It can reach 100 kmph from scratch in 5.6 seconds, which is excellent. Added to that, there are five drive models available on this car, namely Save, Power, Hybrid, AWD and Pure Electric.

      Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President at Volvo Car Group for Research & Development, spoke about this vehicle. “We have been working hard to earn our competitive edge and to give our customers the ultimate combination of performance and low fuel consumption. Our Twin Engine technology has enabled us to build on our heritage of efficient power-train development in a completely new way. Thanks to our new scalable product architecture, and our world class 4-­cylinder engines, we have a clear and leading position,” he was quoted as saying.
