To the delight of car enthusiasts in Indonesia, Volkswagen has unveiled the Polo VRS at the Indonesia Motor Show. Based on the Indian-spec Polo GT TSI, the VRS goes one step ahead with higher performance figures and sporty cosmetic detailing. The Polo VRS is aimed at further intensifying its foothold in the performance hatchback segment.
Making it faster than the standard model is the ‘Performance Package’ that generates 138bhp and 230Nm of torque from the 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder TSI petrol engine. The standard model produces an impressive additional 35bhp of power and 55Nm of torque over the regular model. The powerful engine comes mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission.
Fresh upgrades comes in the form of the black spoiler, blacked out bumper with silver highlights and large 16-inch alloy wheels. To distinguish it from the regular version, the vehicle gets the ‘VRS’ badging on the sides. The interior looks similar to the India-spec Polo GT TSI, however it gets a driver-side armrest and new audio system with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity.
