Volkswagen has announced a recall for the Caddy van done due to faulty bolts that hold gas pressured dampers that are responsible for slow closing of rear hatch type doors. In the event the bolt breaks, the door falls unexpectedly with a snap. The recall includes all the vans built between November 2003 to January 2013.

The van is said to be loaded with interesting safety features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP) that combines the traction control system and anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) to prevent swerving or skidding. The van comes with warranty coverage with no mileage limit for first two years and the third year is covered with 100000 miles.

The van is available in variants like Caddy panel van, Caddy Maxi panel van, Caddy Maxi Kombi, Caddy Maxi window van, Caddy BlueMotion, Caddy Maxi life. The vans are available with three engine options 1.6 Liter four-cylinder engine generates about 75 Ps, another 1.6 Liter TDI that generates about 102 Ps and the third 2.0 liter TDI engine generates about 140 Ps.
