New generation Toyota Corolla Altis has a new dynamical look and refurbished interiors for offering a unique driving experience. At front, the grille looks more sleek and encloses the company's iconic logo within its 4-chrome slats. American car-maker Ford has unveiled a fresh face of its Fiesta sedan at the recently held Auto Expo 2014 event. Ford Asia Pacific President David Schoch stated to reporters here at the Auto Expo 2014 event, “As we prepare to launch 23 models globally in 2014 - the most in more than a century - we see huge potential in India, both as a market and as center of excellence of manufacturing. We are building the factories of future in India and across Asia Pacific region to set the stage for turbo charged growth in coming years.”
The new Ford Fiesta has only received some cosmetic upgrades this time around. The sedan has retained the existing 1.5 Litre petrol engine that generates about 108 Ps of power, whereas the diesel version generates about 90 Ps of power. The petrol engine has been mated to 5 speed manual transmission and 6 speed automatic transmission. For now, the diesel version shall only be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.
On the exterior front, the car features trapezoidal grille that gives it a sportier stance. The headlamps are smoothly crafted to flow into the sides of this car and the bigger bonnet gives it a muscular stance. At the rear, the tails lights have been tweaked to make it look bigger and bolder. Ford has not officially revealed the pricing for this car. More technical details and pricing for the car may be revealed at a later date and it is expected that the car may be released in the Indian market sometime in 2014. The interior sports a two tone shade, new seat fabric enhances the overall ride quality of its occupants. Applink sync connectivity system has been used in this fresh lot. This allows drivers to use voice commands to play their favorite music, controlling mobile application and making phone calls. Moreover, Ice Blue lighting on the switches, dials and displays gives it a distinctive appeal
Under the hood, new Toyota Corolla Altis is tapped with a 4-cylinder 1.8-litre petrol engine that belts out 149 bhp with a peak torque of 190 Nm. It is coupled with a new 7-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic and Paddle Shift transmission system. Safety additions of 8 airbags, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS), Vehicle Stability control (VSC) and Brake Assist (BA) are included in the overall package.
At interiors, the car maker's innovation are perceived everywhere. A new 3-spoke Urethane steering wheel is mounted with consoles and a new monochrome integrated display has been employed that features speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge. Finely stitched leather upholstery perfectly combines with the newly developed infotainment system that provides navigation consoles, multimedia system and also Internet connectivity. New compartments have been added for small luggages and seating arrangement has been made commodious for a soothing ride. Passengers can also recline the seat according to their comfort and driver seat is height adjustable. On the exterior, the car sports new 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels enhance the looks of this new car beautifully. Side mirrors are revamped with new looks and are integrated with indicators. Front bonnet is developed meticulously in accordance with new regulations of road passenger safety. Overall, the new Toyota Corolla Altis is designed longer by extending the wheelbase up to 100 mm and stretched slightly wider than its predecessor.
