Volkswagen Polo has undoubtedly been one of the best-selling cars of the year 2014. This smart looking hatchback has a smart appearance and combined with its impressive performance has been able to hit the bull’s eye. The car is also priced quite moderately between the ranges of 5.0 lakhs INR to 8.2 lakhs INR, which has made it an affordable purchase. Like most other hatches, it has a seating capacity of five persons. It is available in a list of trim options in India, which are listed below.
When it comes to the diesel options, the car has four different models. The 1.5 TDI Trendline model, which is the standard variant, is priced at 6.3 lakhs INR. It is powered by a 1498 cc mill, capable of generating a power of 103.6 bhp. With a manual transmission, the car returns 20.14 kilometres per litre on an average. The 1.5 TDI Comfortline model is another option for those looking for diesel models, which is priced at 6.9 lakhs INR. Apart from these two trim varieties, the other two diesel variants are the 1.5 TDI Highline and the GT 1.5 TDI, which are priced at 7.6 lakhs and 8 lakhs INR respectively.
When it comes to the petrol models, the 1.2 MPI Trendline is the base model and is priced at 5.0 lakhs INR. It runs on a 1198 cc mill and is mated with a manual transmission. The car is quite fuel-efficient with 16.47 kilometres per litre on an average. The other three models in the petrol line-up are the 1.2 MPI Comfortline, the 1.2 MPI Highline and the GT TSI, which are priced at 5.6 lakhs, 6.2 lakhs and 8.2 lakhs INR, respectively. The GT TSI is the only model, which comes with an Automatic transmission. It also has a better fuel-efficiency of 17.2 kilometres per litre.
