      Variety of fuel-efficient vehicles expected at Arizona International Auto Show

      American automobile freaks can expect a diverse variety of options in terms of new fuel-efficient compact cars at the Arizona International Auto Show starting 24th November 2011. Besides fuel-efficient vehicles, the major highlight of the event will be a bagful of new car technologies like automated hatchback opening and smartphone connectivity.

      The international event, hosted at the Phoenix Convention Centre, will be displaying around 400 vehicles from more than 30 automobile manufacturers. Moreover, car fanatics will also get a chance to test-drive around 50 of the new models lined up for the event.

      The American car maker, Ford is expected to showcase its compact car, Ford Focus in electric version. Mark Witthar, Ford Regional Manager, says that an international motor show like this is apt for buyers to see all brand models at one place.

      Ford has also geared up for showcase its new Ford Escape that is powered with highly advanced technologies like a sensor that detects when the driver is standing near the key. Moreover, the rear door can be opened with a gentle kick under the rear bumper, in case the driver's hands are engaged.

      Other automobile companies are also expected to unveil new range of fuel-efficient    options for American consumers. Toyota will be showcasing its Prius wagon, plug-in and a compact Prius model at the event. Moreover, Toyota Camry in hybrid version will also be seen at the auto show.

      The major highlight for Toyota will be its new Entune dashboard technology. The new technology will be capable of connecting the driver's smartphone to the dashboard display screen, therefore making it convenient for users to make dinner reservations, book movie tickets and other similar tasks. 

      Car companies foresee a considerable growth towards fuel-efficient, compact vehicles in 2012. According to President of the Arizona Automobile Dealers Association, Knox Ramsey, sales at Phoenix-area auto dealers have increased around 21% and this trend is expected to continue.

      Thus, with a recent plunge in demand for compact, fuel-friendly vehicles in the American automobile market, major car brands have made sure to develop vehicles that best suit customer preferences.
