Renault KWID, the new competitor for Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon range in the country is finally set for launch on 14th September, 2015. The upcoming vehicle is expected to be offered in four trims namely - Standard, RXE, RXL and RXT. The upcoming hatchback shall be powered by 799cc three-cylinder engine that would generate about 54bhp of power with 72Nm of torque and return a fuel efficiency figure of about 25.17 km/l. The vehicle reportedly weighs only about 660 kgs that indeed makes it the most fuel car in its segment.
The Renault KWID standard model gets a digital instrument cluster, heater without AC, Gershift indicator, Grey coloured upholstery, single tone dashboard, internal boot release and 2-year corrosion protection warranty. The trim gets steel wheels, full-size spare and black bumpers.
The KWID RXE continues to be powered by the same 0.8-Litre engine. However, in terms of features the vehicle gets AC with heater, silver painted steel wheels, closable lower glovebox, engine immobilizer, passenger-side sun visor, satin silver finished dashboard and optional media pack that includes MP3, Bluetooth, USB, Stereo with radio, 2 speakers and a 12V socket and AUX.
The Renault KWID RXL trim shall get features like combo red and black upholstery, body coloured bumpers, electronic power steering, Auto on/off cabin light, passenger-side wing mirror, satin silver finished AC vents, premium front seats, premium black accent around steering wheel and standard media pack that includes – MP3, Stereo with radio, USB, aux, 2 speakers and a 12V socket and Bluetooth.
The Renault KWID RXT shall be offered with optional driver side airbag, Chrome finish on AC knobs, front power windows, central locking and remote keyless entry, dual tone dashboard, piano black finish on centre console, MediaNAV pack with Navigation system and infotainment, fog lamps and Intermittent front wiper with wash feature.
The pricing aspect for all the vehicle shall be known at a later date. The hatchback shall however receive good ground clearance figures and be offered in price range between Rs 3 – 4.5 Lakhs.
