Mahindra Quanto stands true to its tagline 'Live the weekend life'. The Quanto from Mahindra has been impressing the domestic lot with good space and compact body frame that makes it good for city as well as highway runs. Based on public demand, Mahindra has been planning on launching the AMT Quanto trim sometime early in 2015. The vehicle is currently in test phase and has been spotted on numerous occasions.
The upcoming Mahindra Quanto AMT is likely to be powered by the existing 1.5 liter three cylinder diesel engine that generates about 100 bhp @ 3,750 rpm and torque output of about 240 Nm between 1,600-2,800 rpm. On the designing aspect the vehicle is not expected to receive major upgrades. On the technical aspect, the only change here could be the new 5-speed automated manual gearbox that has been developed in conjunction with UK-based Ricardo.
Post launch, the new Mahindra Quanto that is likely to be rechristened as 'Quanto Autoshift' shall prove to be a strong contender against the likes of Fiat Avventura, Ford Ecosport and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Pricing aspect is not revealed for now and may be known at a later date at the time of its launch.
