      New Mercedes-Benz C-Class displayed in Bangalore

      Mercedes-Benz India and Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India have jointly showcased the new C-Class sedan at the CeBIT Bangalore. The new C-Class will go on sale in the Indian car market on November 25, 2014.

      It is for the first time that this international computer and IT expo is organized on Indian soil. The company showcased the importance of IT in product development, infotainment and connectivity applications. CeBIT also shows that how IT plays an important role in automobile engineering today, and it will continue to grow in the future.

      “Our customers expect not only appealing design, outstanding quality and superbperformance from a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, they also like to stay connected,entertained and informed when using their vehicles”, explained Eberhard Kern, CEO of Mercedes-Benz India. “We offer our customers an ideal in-car infotainment system and the new C-Class sets benchmark in terms of integrating next generation telematics and IT systems. We are constantly implementing the the latest technologies available, up to the stage where we are a front-runner in the development of semi-autonomous and autonomous driving.”

      The new generation Mercedes C-Class is longer and wider than the outgoing model, though the height of the car has been reduced by 5mm to 1442mm. The length has been raised by 95mm to 4686mm, while the width is up by 40mm to 1810mm. Its boot space is increased by 5mm to 480-litres. The company will launch the petrol model first, while the diesel would come by early next year. It is propelled by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol unit that develops 208bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. Its oil burner is the 2.2-litre unit producing 168bhp and 400Nm of torque.
