      Upcoming cars in India - February 2015

      With the growing competition in the Indian car market, car manufacturers are aiming to launch series of new cars in the country. This month, we have seen a lot of new cars and facelifts launched in the market. The next month, February 2015, we will see the launch of at least four new cars. We bring you a list of upcoming cars in the Indian car market in February, 2015.

      Hyundai Verna Facelift

      Hyundai Verna Facelift: Buoyed by the excellent response for Elite i20, the South Korean automaker is now aiming to launch at least five cars this year. The first car to hit our roads will be the updated Verna sedan, which is already on sale in Russia and other markets. Featuring a new front fascia, the sedan has new grille, modified headlamps with projectors, and new fog lamps. It features new set of alloy wheels and new reflectors on rear bumpers. The company will also make changes to its suspension mechanism to offer better handling and steering feel.

      Maruti Swift Dzire facelift: The production of the compact sedan have already commenced, while the launch is expected to take place by mid-February. The sedan features new front with large chrome grille, new headlamps, all new bumper and new chrome enclosure for fog lamps. It has new 10-spoke alloy wheels, i-Key entry, push button start, multi-functional steering wheel and new music system with Bluetooth. The new model will get slightly tuned engines, which will offer around 10 per cent more fuel efficiency.

      New Volkswagen Jetta: Unveiled at the 2014 New York Motor Show, the new VW Jetta will be launched in the Indian car market on February, 17. The vehicle gets changes to both exteriors and interiors. The exterior of the sedan gets new grille, bumpers, new alloy wheels and slightly modified headlamps and tail lamps. Inside the cabin, the sedan has new three spoke multi-function steering wheel and new music system.

      BMW i8 Plug-in Hybrid: The German carmaker will launch its flagship plug-in hybrid sports car- the BMW i8 on February 18. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the car will get the new 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine that is good for 231bhp and 320Nm of torque. The front wheels of the car are clubbed to an electric motor via a two-stage automatic box, which is good for 131bhp of power. The combined power output is 362bhp and 570Nm of peak torque.
