      Toyota to launch Hiace luxury commuter in India

      Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced that it will introduce the Hiace premium commuter in the Indian car market in the second half of this year. The company has showcased the Hiace at the 4th Bus and Special Vehicle Show in Greater Noida. Earlier, the company also unveiled the vehicle at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show.

      The Toyota Hiace is a luxury commuter vehicle which is equipped with several high-end features. Talking about safety features, the car gets anti-lock braking system (ABS), SRS dual airbags, LED high-mount stop lamp, fog lamp, collapsible steering column, crumple zone construction and crash safety GOA Body. Inside, the vehicle gets manual air conditioner with multiple air conditioning vents, power windows, easy closer and power slide door, power steering, Audi system with CD, USB and 6 speakers, reverse camera, rear camera, etc.

      Under the bonnet is a 2,982cc Euro 4 diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 135bhp at 3,400rpm and a peak torque of 300Nm between 1,200-2,400rpm. This engine is clubbed to a four-speed automatic transmission gearbox.

      Speaking on the occasion Mr. N Raja, Director & Senior Vice President (Sales & Marketing), Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. The Hiace is sold in 140 countries and has clocked sales of around 6 million units across the world. We are showcasing the Hiace for our potential business customers. The Hiace will be the first of its kind offering from Toyota in India.
