Triumph Motorcycles – a renowned British brand – had recorded its highest sales figures worldwide in 30 years. The company traded a sum of 1300 motorcycles in its first year of inception. By selling 54,432 units, the bike manufacturer recorded its highest sales figures. The total figures from Triumph represented an annual increase of 4.5 per cent in its sales. With this growth, the auto maker managed to offset a loss of around £8 million because of the debts of unrealized exchange rates, premeditated overseas expansion costs and the enduring investment in new-fangled models. Revenue for Triumph Motorcycles is being totaled as £364 million, whereas the sales of total unit increased to over 54,000, which can be compared from the previous year with about 52,000 units.
Expressing his views on this sales performance, Director Sales & Marketing of Triumph Motorcycles India, Paul Stroud, was quoted as saying, "2014 has been a hugely successful year for Triumph Motorcycles. Growing markets like India and Brazil have been extremely critical and gratifying at the same time and they have contributed substantially to our overall figures. The industry is undoubtedly experiencing its most successful seasons and demonstrates that riding is regaining popularity as a leisure pursuit, as well as a stylish option for the urban commuter across the world."
On similar lines, Managing Director of Triumph Motorcycles India, Vimal Sumbly, said, "In India, we have had a dream run this past year having clocked 1300 sales. We are delighted with the way things have panned out for us in the last year. It has been extremely rewarding in terms of both sales and the love we have got from Triumph enthusiasts. Globally also this has been a great year for Triumph Motorcycles. We have not only established ourselves as a front runner in the luxury motorcycles industry but have also been successful in adding value to our global sales figures." Pioneered in November 2013, the Triumph Group inaugurated its showrooms in 10 important Indian cities, by means of 12 models in its listings.
