      Toyota launches new Corolla Altis variant in India

      Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian unit of world’s largest car maker Toyota, on Wednesday launched a new variant of its world famous premium sedan – Corolla Altis. The new variant has been offered in both petrol and diesel options, priced in the range of Rs 10.53 lakh and Rs 14.77 lakh (ex showroom Delhi).

      Speaking to the reporters in the national capital, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Managing Director Hiroshi Nakagawa said, "Since the launch of the first Corolla in India in 2003, we have been getting very good response for the car. So far we have sold 70,000 units of the car across the country."

      Powered by a 1,798 cc engine, the petrol version of the car will be available in the range of Rs 10.53 lakh to Rs 14.77 lakh. On the other hand, the diesel version is available in the range of Rs 11.46 lakh to Rs 14.55 lakh. The major attractions of the new Corolla Altis model include newly designed headlamp and grille, Dual VVT-i system. As per ARAI figures, the petrol and diesel versions of the car will be delivering a mileage of 15.22 kmpl and 21.45 kmpl, respectively.

      In year 2010, the company sold a total of 10,400 units of Corolla Altis sedan in the country. With the launch of new variant, the company aims to sell 11,500 units of the car in the country in year 2011.
