Toyota Kirloskar Motors has proclaimed second season of its Etios Motor Racing Trophy which will begin this year. In its inaugural year (2103), TKM witnessed success and it eyes replicating it this year too. The second season of EMR will see drivers fight out with each other to win EMR trophy that will be conducted as a part of the national Racing Championship later this year. The first round of 2014 EMR trophy will be conducted on July 19th and July 20th at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore as a part of third and fifth round of National Racing Championship.
For season two, TKM has shortlisted new and old drivers from season 1 who will compete with each other for the title of champion. Last year the race was organized at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida where Diljith emerged as winner while Akhil Rabindra and Varun Anekar stood at second and third position respectively.
Cars driven in the EMR have been put on display at select dealerships of Toyota Motors in Coimbatore and Kerala. At these dealerships, contests are being conducted where customers get a chance to experience EMR cars driven on the track.
