Toyota will soon launch facelift versions of its Etios twins, Etios sedan and Liva hatchback in India. Made specifically for the Indian market, Etios sedan was launched in India in December 2010 while its hatchback variant, Etios Liva made its debut in mid-2011. After an initial spark, the popularity of both the vehicles started falling which reflected in relatively lesser sales. Although this would not be the first facelift for both the cars, prior to this Toyota has given a couple of tweaks to both the vehicles. This time around too, the tweaks made to the twins will be confined to minor revisions.

Belonging to volume segment, Etios sedan and Liva could become start sellers in Toyota India portfolio. Nothing is known yet on the facelift versions of Etios and Liva, therefore it is difficult to reveal what will change in these cars. But it is expected that there could be some cosmetic changes on the outside to make the Etios twins look visually delightful. Cabin too is likely to sport some additional features and get several other changes. On the outside, Toyota is expected to revamp front fascia, it is likely that both the cars get some chrome treatment for enhancement of the exterior looks. On the inside, a new upholstery for a fresh ambiance complemented by a 2-DIN stereo system sums up modifications made in the interiors.

There will not be any change in the engine set in Etios and Liva both the cars will continue to be powered with the same set of engines-a 1.2 litre and a 1.5 litre petrol engines and a 1.4 litre D-4D diesel powertrain engendering 69 Bhp/170 Nm. Both the vehicles will come equipped to a conventional five-speed manual gearbox. A crossover variant of Liva dubbed Etios Cross is also available for sale in India, but Etios series will be phased out from India in 2016.
