Toyota had raised curtains over its new crossover rechristened as Etios Cross at the recently held 2014 Auto Expo event. The new crossover is stated to be based on the regular Liva hatchback platform. As per sources, bookings are open and interested buyers can make a down payment of Rs. 50,000 as a booking amount.
The Toyota Etios Cross carries a rugged and sportier look in comparison to its hatchback counterpart. The car features a set of 15-inches, 10-spoke alloy wheels, black and silver body cladding, large bars on the roof, an integrated bumper guard at front, rear spoiler and a new fog lamp cluster, which were missing from the hatchback and offers an aggressive stance. The car has also received plastic cladding for the lower body section.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle has adjustable headrests, black seat fabric and chrome enhancements on the dashboard. To enhance your entertainment experience the car comes with a 2 DIN audio system loaded with Bluetooth, Aux-in and USB compatibility. The interiors look smart and carry an upmarket feel.
The crossover is expected to be powered by the existing 1.4-litre D4D diesel engine that generates about, whereas the petrol versions are powered by 1.2 Liter and 1.5-litre variant that generates about 80 Ps and 90 Ps of power respectively. The upcoming car is positioned in straight of competition to the likes of Volkswagen Cross Polo and the upcoming Fiat Punto Adventure Crossover. The car is said to be loaded with interesting safety features like ABD and EBD systems to make your journey's more secured and comfortable. It is anticipated that the car maybe priced around Rs 6.0 - 6.5 lakh, but confirmed reports may be received post the sales launch due to be held sometime in May 2014.
