      Over the years, premium automobiles and movies have always gone hand-in-hand. There are many types of motion pictures that have featured cars in one or more central characters, such as racing, James Bond movies and superhero action flicks, amongst others. Hence, CarTrade.com has rounded up a list of the most legendary and classic movies that feature cars in a central role.

      Speaking of the best car movies in history, mentioning of the iconic first Bond movie that was opened to public in the year 1962 - 'Dr. No' is a must. The motion picture is famous for the use of most famous Bond car, the machine gun, tyre shredder and rocket launcher laden Aston Martin DB9. The second movie in our line up is 'The Italian Job', which starred legendary British actor Michael Caine and was released in the year 1969. The movie is famous for its Mini Coopers, which were seen in most of the frames of the film. Released in the year 1975, the movie featured several cutting-edge and futuristic vehicle designs, unknown to general public at that instant of time. The 1999 blockbuster hit 'Gone in Sixty Seconds' also requires a mention in the list. The storyline went like this, lead actor Nicholas Cage had to steal 50 cars in 24 hours, in order to save his brother's life. Further, the first three movies in 'Fast and Furious' series command the sixth, seventh and eighth positions on our list of most legendary car movies. The ninth spot goes to the super hit 'Cars' animation film, whereas the 2008 'Death Race' rounds up or list of ten best car movies.
