The leader of Indian automobile market Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has reported a fall in its July sales. MSIL has sold a total of 75,300 vehicles in July, 2011 as compared to the 100,857 units in the same month a year ago. However, it has claimed that the short term dip in sales have not affected the confidence of the company. As mentioned in the official website of MSIL, such figures are result of the planned changes the company has undergone in the past one year.

Nevertheless, a drop in the domestic sales for the month of July, 2011 is the last thing that Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) would have desired. Especially, when there are hardly a couple of days left for the launch of the much awaited Maruti Swift 2011 model. Having been in the news for its launch in August, the official website of MSIL has come up with disappointing sales and dispatch figures for the month of July 2011. Experts have given their comments and are of the opinion that it is not going to affect the sales of Maruti Swift, which is expected to take the company to a different level in the Indian market.

The UK version of the Maruti Swift car, Suzuki Swift, was launched in October, 2011. Known for its budget-tag price and cheap running costs, the Indian model is expected to carry the same image of a reliable car. Besides, the new Maruti Suzuki to be launched in India is said to be bigger than the previous model. The new Model is lighter as well as has a better fuel combustion, which would definitely help in reducing the carbon dioxide emission. The premier models of the Maruti Swift are to be incorporated with a push button starter, which is drawing attention of the automobiles enthusiasts across the country.

The company blames the sluggish overall automobiles market as the main reason which has hampered the sales of their compact segment of cars, which includes Swift as well. The sales of the compact segment (comprising Estilo, Swift and Ritz) dropped by 56.02 percent in July 2011, which has proved to be one of the hard blows the company has faced since it was established. The number of sales in the compact segment cars dipped to 9,099 units in July 2011 from 20,691 units in the same month a year ago.

The company is continuously battling increased car loan rate and fuel hike, because of which the buyers have been gradually dropping. MSIL has come up with four models of the petrol and the diesel version each. The expected price of Maruti Swift 2011 as speculated by the experts is expected to range between Rs 4.65 lacs and Rs 5.75 lacs for the petrol version, and Rs 5.51 lacs and Rs 6.25 lacs for its diesel version.

Even though the price of the New Maruti Swift has not been revealed officially by the company, the advance bookings show the credibility and popularity enjoyed by MISL among Indian customers.
