      Yamaha India registers 28.49 per cent surge in sales in July 2011

      India Yamaha Motors, one of the leading two-wheeler makers in the Indian market, has reported a jump of 28.49 per cent in its monthly sales in July 2011. The company managed to sell 38,197 units of its bikes during this month as compared to 29,728 units sold in the same month last year.

      In the domestic market, Yamaha India sold a total of 29,021 units of its vehicles as compared to 22,899 units sold in the same month last year, registering a sales jump of 26.73 per cent.

      On the other hand, the exports of the company surged 34.37 per cent during this month. Yamaha managed to export 9,176 units of its vehicle during this month as compared to 6,829 units dispatched to the overseas market in July 2010.

      Commenting on the company’s performance during the month India Yamaha Motor Chief Executive Officer and MD Hiroyuki Suzuki said, "We are pleased with the consistent sales growth that we've been witnessing month-on-month this year. We are also very upbeat about the upcoming festive season which will further propel our sales."

      While further elaborating company’s future plans, he said that Yamaha India will now reach out the prospective customers in Tier-II and tier-III cities. The company also plans to enhance its sales and service network in the country.

      The current product line-up of Yamaha in the Indian market include Yamaha Alba, Fazar, Fino, FZ, Gladiator, G5, V Max, YZF etc.
