On the back of announcement made by Lamborghini to end production of Gallardo, the company has slowly started to unveil the replacement of the same. The Italian sports car manufacturer recently updated a microsite in which it wrote “Discover the roar of the new creature from Lamborghini.” Beneath this tag line, an engine starter button was shown, wherein one could click to hear roar of the replacement model. In another inscription on the site, it is written “That will be just the beginning”, which, logically, implies that more teasers of new sports car will be coming in future.

As reports have been suggesting, Lamborghini is working on the replacement model of Gallardo, which is rumoured to be named as Cabrera. In the recent past, news of the Gallardo replacement model were doing the rounds but this is for the first time that Lamborghini has officially divulged any details about it.

The upcoming entry-level sports car of Lamborghini will be more evolved as compared to the outgoing Gallardo model. The car, called as Cabrera, is reported to be more powerful and hardcore as it shall be equipped with a V10 engine. Going by rumours, Cabrera shall be offered with a 5.2-litre V10 engine that might give away 600 bhp of power. Furthermore, the naturally aspirated engine might be placed at mid-rear section while for the transmission option; the company will be giving away the 7-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The upcoming car of Lamborghini might come with the tag LP 600-4. As far as the expected launch date of Cabrera is concerned, it might debut across worldwide markets till late 2014.

According to sources, the new Lamborghini will get design cues from the Aventador having lower ground clearance and angular body structure. Lamborghini has given away a sleek and slender headlight cluster system that has twin luminous strips in a 'V' shape. The front bumper with large air intakes is derived from the Aventador model. On the sides, the replacement of Gallardo looks quite similar to Aventador with edgy running creases that extend till the rear. However, at the rear portion of the vehicle, the company has retained the look of Gallardo as it has given a new horizontal taillamp design, which looks to be carried over from the outgoing model.

Recently, the company announced that the production of Gallardo is ceased as a new car will be replacing it. As told by Lamborghini, Gallardo was the best-selling model for the company as it sold 14022 units of the same during the decade old production. Over the time, Lamborghini manufactured 32 editions of the sports car as the final version was Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante.
