      Tata Zica launch delayed till February

      India was expecting the launch of the Tata Zica hatchback this month but, Tata has suggested a change in plans. The hatchback will hit the market sometime in February after the 2016 Auto Expo. In the meanwhile, Tata is planning to build a customer base with their Tata Zica 7-senses campaign.

      The Zica 7-senses campaign is being undertaken by Tata, so that potential customers can cover all the 7 senses of Sight, Smell, Sound, Taste, Touch, Intuition and Equilibrium with the car.

      The exterior of the Tata Zica has proportionate body and sharp lines. Long sweptback headlamps and the typical Tata mesh grille comprise of the front. The mesh on the front bumper has hexagonal elements which is the theme throughout the car, it also gets a lengthy chrome strip and chrome surround for the fog lamps.

      Powering the Zica, is an all-aluminium three-cylinder 1199cc petrol engine that produces 83.8bhp and 114Nm of torque, while the diesel Zica is powered by a 1047cc diesel engine which produces 69bhp and a torque figure of 140Nm. Both engines are mated to 5-speed manual gearboxes.

      The hexagon theme will make its way on the inside as well with the prominent hexagonal centre console. The interior will also feature higher quality materials. The top-of-the-line model comes with a Harman-developed eight speaker system with aux-in, Bluetooth connectivity and USB. Map My India navigation enables convenient offline navigation.

      The Zica also gets rear parking sensors with display, two airbags and EBD and ABS as safety equipment. The Tata Zica will take on the Chevrolet Beat and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio. The Zica is expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakh.
