Tata Motors will offer Safari DiCOR in just two variants, the LX and EX, as per an exclusive reveal by our friends at autojunction.in. With this initiative, the auto maker is planning to offer its original Safari alongside the newly launched Storme without affecting sales of both the models. Earlier, the company was offering five variants of Safari DiCOR, namely LX, EX, GX, VX 2WD and VX 4x4, which has been now restricted to just two.

The Tata Safari DiCOR LX boasts of several comfort advancements, which adds to the convenience of passengers. It features central locking system, power windows, height adjustable power steering, and electronically adjustable driver seat along with rear wiper. The additional features packed within the EX variant include air conditioner vents at rear and fog lamps. The price of LX variant has been maintained around Rs. 8.3 lakhs, whereas EX is sold for close to Rs. 9.5 lakhs (all prices are ex-showroom Mumbai). On the other hand, the base model of Safari Storme is placed around Rs. 10 lakhs, which acts a barricade from cannibalising the sales of both the Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs).

It must be noted that the engine incorporated within Safari DiCOR and Safari Storme is different, though the power and engine capacity are same. The power output of both the models is 140 bhp with a highest torque of 320 Nm. Safari Storme is fitted with VARIcor engine, which features a higher level of refinement compared to the DiCOR powertrain.

With the launch of Safari Storme in the Indian auto industry, the auto maker has taken the market by storm as the model has gathered immense appreciation from the audience. Industry experts believe that the parallel offering of both the models is a good strategy adopted by Tata Motors, which might turn fortunes for the company in near future. However, one can say that two features make the original Safari stand-out – the front grill and tyre mounted on back door. Industry experts believe that both of these features provide a mean and dominating look to a SUV, which are somehow absent in the new Safari Storme.
