Tata Nano had been launched as the world’s cheapest car which took away the attention of the car also being an engineering marvel, though it was surely the world’s most talked about car in the growing small car market in India and overseas. However, presently Tata Motors is working on a new high-end avatar of Tata Nano that will bespeak of its qualities rather than aiming exclusively at its price tag.
“While pushing the Nano as the cheapest car, its other values have been overlooked. It is an engineering marvel; it’s spacious, fuel efficient and has an interesting price-value equation. So, we will offer a wider range of options to our customers,” said Tata Motors MD & CEO Carl Peter Forster.
There will thus be yet another glittering addition to the existing Nanos on Indian roads. However, this model will not be on sale but will be made exclusively for Titan Industries, a Tata Group company. Titan is celebrating 5000 years of Indian jewellery and Tata Motors has put up three models on its website for voting. The model with the maximum number of votes will go into production and will remain as a momento to market the occasion. Tata Motors is aiming in this way to bring publicity for Tata Motors as well as Titan Industries with this new special model of Tata Nano.
