The popular small car Tata Nano is all set to be resurrected in the Indian market, as the company is planning to launch a new 800cc version of this car in the country. The bigger engine version of Nano will be much sportier and more powerful as compared to the existing version of the car, as the company is looking forward to alter the perception that the Tata Nano as a poor man’s car.
The all new Nano 800 CC is expected to be launched in the Indian market by early next year, where it will be taking on with the likes of Maruti Alto, Chevrolet Spark and recently launched Hyundai EON. The new higher end Nano will be aimed at the more affluent buyers who are eying to buy a car in the range of Rs 2 to 3 lakh.
The existing 624 CC Nano on the other Hand, will continue to be targeted more on the buyers of semi urban and rural markets. At present, the Tata Nano model is available in the price segment of Rs 1.4 lakh and just under Rs 2 lakh. Thus, the new version of the car is likely to be at least Rs. 30,000 to 50,000 costlier as compared to the existing model.
