Tata Motors sales for the month of March 2014, stood at 51,184 units including domestic sales and exports. Company’s commercial and passenger vehicles sales for the domestic market in March 2014 were 45,996 units. Collective sales including domestic sales and exports accounted for 566,695 units for the fiscal year 2013-2014. Tata Motors commercial vehicles sales in March 2014 in domestic market were 33,356 units including 20,938 units of LCV and 12,418 units of M&HCV.
Accrued sales of commercial vehicles in domestic market stood at 378, 348 units for the financial year 2013-2014. Aggregate sales of LCV and M&HCV were 268,117 and 110,231 units respectively.
The company sold a total of 12,640 units of passenger vehicles last month, from Tata’s stable, petite hatchback Nano, B segment hatchback Indica and Indigo range contributed 9,761 units. Company’s UV segment which comprise of cars like Sumo, Safari, Aria and Tata Venture range contributed meagre 2,879 units. Aggregate sales of passenger vehicles stood at 138,455 units, collective sales of Nano, Indica and Indigo range were 107,187 units. On the other hand accrued sales of UVs including Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture range accounted for 31,268 units much less than the company’s hatchback and sedan range. Tata exported a total of 5,188 units of vehicles to other markets in March 2014, the collective sales from exports for the FY 2013-2014 stood at 49,892 units.
The home grown auto maker performed low in the UV segment, despite inducting a facelifted version of Aria in domestic market last month, the company did not benefit in terms of monthly sales. Among the upcoming launches slated for 2014, Tata Zest compact sedan and Tata Bolt B segment hatchback are included. Both the vehicles were showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Launch is expected to happen during the third quarter of 2014. Tata expects to these vehicles to yield benefits and contribute towards growth in sales.
