Tata Motors, the largest auto maker in the Indian market, has launched a new version of its popular sports utility vehicle Sumo. Named as Tata Sumo Gold, the new SUV has been launched in four variants including GX, EX, LX & CX. The new Tata Sumo Gold SUV range starts at price tag of Rs. 5.23 lakh (Ex-showroom price).
Powered by a 3.0L diesel CR4 engine, the car is capable of delivering a peak power of 85 PS along with a peak torque of 250 Nm. Moreover, an optional turbo engine has been offered to buyers a choice of two powerhouses. The CR4 Turbo-BSIV is a 2956cc engine of the car delivers a fuel economy of 14.7 kmpl. On the other hand the Di Turbo BS3 is a 2956cc engine of the car delivers a fuel economy of 14.3 kmpl.
Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Vice President, Commercial - PCBU, Tata Motors, Mr. R.Ramakrishnan said, "The Tata Sumo Gold is a result of extensive consumer studies and field tests. The product has been designed to fulfill various requirements, long-awaited by the new generation customer."
The other attractions of the car include a warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh km (whichever come earlier), advanced HVAC with easily accessible controls, power windows, engine immobilizer, music system, etc.
