Rolls Royce, an iconic luxury car maker that had recently recalled its Ghost model for a possible hazard of fire, said on Friday that the Ghost model sold in India will also come in the range of the recalled models of this car. However, the company hasn’t revealed the exact number of the Ghost models that will be included in this recall.

Speaking to the reporter in the National Capital on Friday, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd Regional Director Paul Harris, said, "It affects cars in India. We cannot give the numbers as we do not share as a company policy. We are already in touch with the customers here and the process is in progress." He added, "It is definitely one of the key markets for us. Globally, it is in the top 10 markets for us and entering the top 5."

It is to be mentioned here that Rolls Royce had recalled 589 units of its popular Ghost model last week in the US market. These recalled models include the cars manufactured during the period of September 2009 and September 2010. According to the company, the cause of this possible fire hazard is a faulty circuit board that can cause overheating of water pump and even lead to car catching fire.

Meanwhile, Rolls Royce has launched an extended wheelbase version of Ghost model that carries a price tag of Rs 3.04 crore.
