      Suzuki Gixxer set for launch as it reaches dealerships

      The wait has been quite a long one for fans of Suzuki Gixxer; however, this sports motorcycle has been much anticipated. Finally, it is now expected that the wait is finally in its last stage as the Gixxer, the naked sports bike has reached a number of its Suzuki dealerships within the nation. It is expected that fans will get to get their hands on the new bike by the end of August, 2014. The good part about reaching the dealerships is that bookings have already started. The on-road price of this motorbike is slated at 81000 INR, which essentially focuses on the fact that the showroom price will be somewhere around the likes of Yamaha FZ Version 2.0.

      The first time this bike was showcased in front of the masses was in February 2014, when it was exhibited at the Delhi Auto Expo. The official model was first unveiled in January, a month before the expo. Though there has been no official declaration from the brand about the specifications, it is expected that soon one will be made. However, it is now known that Suzuki Gixxer has been installed with a single down-tube frame, lightweight 154.9 cc, air-cooled engine together combined with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology.

      With a carburettor type fuelling pattern, it is ensured that the SEP will churn out a superior performance as compared to the previous models. The maximum power output is expected to be around 14.64 bhp at 8000 rpm. The peak torque that can be achieved will be 14 Nm at around 6000 rpm. The Gixxer has been provided with 100/80 tubeless tyres and a muscular 140/60 radial tyres, ensuring that the bike will provide more traction and a firm grip on the road. It is also expected that these tyres will ensure that there is no slipping even on the most unpredictable roads. The front wheel has been provided with a disc brake and the rear tyre has been given a drum braking system for a smoother drive even in busy roads. Telescopic front forks have been installed to make the journey more pleasant. However, the rear receives a mono-shock system with swing-arm arrangement. All these high-end specifications combined with a superior performance will be available at a Suzuki dealer near you sometime during the end of August, 2014.
