Czech auto giant, Skoda has launched Yeti facelift in India. The facelift version of Yeti crossover has been rolled out in Elegance variant only in two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. Skoda has priced the two-wheel drive variant at Rs 18.99 lakh and the all-wheel drive variant is tagged at Rs 20.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). New Yeti underpins the same platform as the outgoing variant; however the vehicle has been bestowed with Skoda’s new design philosophy adding more elegance to the crossover.
Tweaks are confined to cosmetic upgrades, mechanically the car remains the same. Modifications made to the exteriors of the crossover include revivified front and rear bumpers, the front bumper features wide air-dam and new fog lamp assembly, bi-xenon head lamps with day time running lights, LED infused tail lamps, new housing for the wing mirrors and new colour options for the roof. Some other external changes like a new front grille borrowed from new Superb, both the two-wheel drive and four wheel drive variants feature different design of alloy wheels and mirror caps. Skoda has put on offer seven new exterior colour options along with ample options to accessorize the vehicle such as roof racks and luggage baskets.
A couple of changes have also been made in the cabin such as inclusion of a new three-spoke steering wheel that bears resemblance with the one equipped in new Octavia saloon. Other than this the vehicle gets new tyre monitoring system, cruise control with keyless entry, electrically adjustable driver seat and few other features. Among the comfort and convenience equipment, the prominent provisions include dual zone automatic climate control, leather wrapped seats and steering wheel, sound system with eight speakers and various others. Prominent safety features incorporated in Yeti facelift comprise of eight airbags, Anti-lock Braking system with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, brake assist, traction control, Electronic Stability Program, hill hold and hill descent control.
As mentioned above engine configuration remains unchanged, hence the crossover is powered with the same 2.0 litre TDI powertrain. The 2.0 litre TDI engine is offered in two states of tune- a 110PS and a 140PS variant. The 110 PS variant powers the two-wheel drive version and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand the 140 PS variant is equipped in the all-wheel drive version and is synchronized to a six-speed shifter.
