Skoda Auto, a subsidiary of the largest European car maker Volkswagen, is speculated to launch the new Fabia Scout in the Indian market, next month. The new car will be rolled-out in a bid to expand its portfolio in the country. Fabia is currently the cheapest Skoda portfolio car in the Indian market.
The Fabia Scout is currently available in a number of foreign markets across the globe. The car comes fitted with a 1.6L petrol and 1.6L diesel engine in these markets, and the Fabia Scout is currently the largest selling version of Fabia hatchback in the world. However in India, the new Fabia Scout is expected to be launched with a smaller 1.2L engine that has already been doing duties in the existing Fabia model in the country.
Recently, the Fabia Scout was spotted testing on the Indian roads and spy pictures of the car were posted over a number of auto blogs and news portals.
Meanwhile, the company is also speculated to mark its debut in the competitive mid-size sedan segment. Powered by the same engine units as the Volkswagen Vento, the new Skoda sedan is expected to hit the Indian roads by this year end.
