Constant questions keep hovering in our heads as to who is the best driver of the country and which youngster possesses the capability to be one among the Formula 1 racers. These string of questions have finally come to an end with the Maruti Suzuki Autocar Young Driver Contest.

With the aim of promoting safe driving, Maruti Suzuki, in collaboration with Autocar India, came up with the idea of this event, which engages people from 18 to 30 years of age throughout the country. Along with the various phases and courses of the competition, the participants will be taught about various benefits of following traffic rules on the road.

The event of finding the best young driver comprises of four phases. The first phase is that of an online quiz on road safety, in which, 3,000 people will be shortlisted among the 24,000 entrants. The shortlisted candidates will be asked to go through a driving skills test held at 42 different Maruti Driving Schools spread all across the country. The success ratio is less with only 1% qualifying for the third round that is 30 among these 3,000. These top 30 candidates will be invited to Delhi where judgment will be done on the basis of parameters like vehicle control, safety and other such 20 parameters.

The final phase will be the award giving phase, where the winner will be given the title of Maruti Suzuki Autocar Young Driver of 2014, and the winner will be handed over the keys of his brand new Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, which will obviously be sponsored by Maruti Suzuki.

This event has been helping in finding the youngest best driver of India since the past six years and is spreading awareness about safe driving.
