Skoda Auto, the Czech automobile giant and Volkswagen group’s subsidiary, enjoys a global presence in over 101 countries. Encouraged by the good response fetched by Skoda Fabia in India, the company aspires to step ahead and launch its new version, Skoda Fabia Scout. Skoda auto is now all set to enhance its portfolio in Indian market as the company is expected to launch its Fabia Scout version in August itself.
The first half of 2011 witnessed the debut of many cars like Etios Liva, Beat Diesel, Fort Fiesta and others. However, 2011 is not over yet and many more cars are still waiting to be launched, including the most awaited Skoda Fabia Scout. Actually, Skoda Fabia Scout is a reskinned Skoda Fabia Hatchback, with slight modifications to give it a mean machine look and impression of a faux crossover. The new Skoda Fabia Scout will come somewhere around the price range of Rs. 9 to 10 lacs, albeit these are mere speculations.
The official site of Skoda auto illustrates Fabia Scout as, “You don’t want to live like others, you don’t want to merge with the crowd. You want to stand out, to be seen. When you are tired of the city, nothing and nobody can prevent you from enjoying extraordinary experiences in the Fabia Scout. The Scout feels just as good on the highways as in light terrain or on unhardened roads. In addition to other things, it is given enough confidence by original plastic accessories on the underside of the chassis and the front and rear bumpers.”
Skoda Fabia Scout, which has captured a number of markets throughout the world, is available in 1.6 Litre petrol or diesel engine. Presently, Fabia Scout is the largest selling version of Fabia hatchback. However, it is envisaged that new Skoda Fabia Scout will have 1.2 Litre engine, like the previously existing Fabia model. Skoda Fabia Scout is designed with 16 to 17 inches taller wheels and extensive ground clearance, which makes it suitable for coarse Indian roads. The interior of the model is expected to be more comfortable. The model will possibly fulfil the demand of those who care for the style, potency and endurance.
Skoda India's endeavour is to make a difference with this new-all-terrain vehicle. Hence, the company has incorporated many features like scratch and gravel resistance cladding at the door undersides and wheel arch ways. There is also cladding incorporated around the rear of the car to ensure better safety. The passenger compartment's look and comfort is another feather in the cap of this crossover version. On the whole, Fabia Scout is all dressed up to draw the attention of both the auto-motor lovers and connoisseurs.
Presently, four successful models of Skoda Auto India are ramping on Indian roads, namely the Skoda Fabia, Skoda Laura, Skoda Yeti, and Skoda Superb. Taking notice of the good response this new car variant is receiving, experts believe that Skoda Fabia Scout will give shove to increase the sales of Skoda Auto.
