      Scania to participate in Bus World 2015 in Mumbai

      Scania is all prepared to participate in Bus World 2015 in Mumbai, which is scheduled between April 28 and 30. The auto maker will showcase its entire range, including Scania’s intercity bus, trucks, Metrolink and India’s first green bus, which was revealed in Nagpur in 2014. Notably, the brand has set up its both truck and bus manufacturing facilities in the Indian market, and thus it is often termed as an international company with local essence.

      The bus manufacturing plant was inaugurated in May 2014 at Narasapura, Bangalore. The entire project had a proposed investment of around Rs. 300 crore, with an annual capacity of about 1,000 units. Along with fulfilling the demand of India, the facility also acts as a hub for shipments for other markets in Asia. The truck manufacturing plant of Scania is established in Narasapura, and was inaugurated in October 2013. The annual production capacity of this facility stands at 1,000 buses and 2,500 trucks. From this plant, the auto maker is looking forward to export its vehicles to regions like Middle East, Asia and Africa for over next five years.

      It is learnt that Scania is offering high-end transport solutions for more than 2 decades in Europe, Latin America, South East Asia, Middle East and Africa, and is now eyeing on the Indian market. Sources revealed that the auto maker will be working in sync with the country’s new economic vision of establishing sustainable and smart cities, and therefore will contribute in offering economically and commercially viable transport solutions.

      Along with this, Scania has participated in the Make in India campaign, and acting as a driving force in promoting India as a production hub by expanding its operations in the country. The company currently offers an array of on-road haulage truck models, such as R 580 6×4, G 460 6×4, P 410 6×2 and the off-road P 410 8×4 mining tipper, which are all specially designed for the Indian roads.
